Early voting ends Saturday, Election Day Tuesday

Oct. 6—HENDERSON — Election Day is fast approaching.

Early voting ends Saturday, Oct. 7. The Andrea L. Harris Operations and Service Center at 900 South Beckford Drive will be open for early voting from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. that day.

Election Day is Tuesday, Oct. 10, from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. There are nine polling places. People who reside in certain areas of the county that the city has annexed have their own polling places outside city limits, hence nine total locations. Areas of the city with their voting locations are as follows:

— North Henderson 1 — County Office Building, 305 Young Street and Walnut Street

— South Henderson 1 — H. Leslie Perry Memorial Library, 205 Breckenridge Street

— East Henderson 1 — Advance Academy, 219 Charles Street

— West Henderson 1 — Central Fire Station, 211 Dabney Drive

Northern Vance (Annexed City Limits) — Northern Vance Middl

— e School, 293 Warrenton Road

— South Henderson 2 — L. B. Yancey Elementary School, 311 Hawkins Drive

— Hilltop — St. James Baptist Church, 3005 Highway 158 Business

— Sandy Creek (Annexed City Limits) — Aycock Recreation Complex, 307 Carey Chapel Road

— Community College (Garden Walk and Medical Court) — Vance-Granville Community College, 200 Community College Road

Whether voting early or day-of, those coming to the polls to do their civic duty will need a photo ID, like a driver's license. The address on that ID does not have to match your current address, according to the NC State Board of Elections.

Votes will be canvassed, or authenticated, a week later at 11 a.m.

As a reminder, here's who's on the ballot.

— Mayor: Sara Coffey, Melissa Elliott, Greg Etheridge, Jason Spriggs
