Early voting has started. Find who's on your ballot in Indiana before going to the polls.

The 2023 municipal elections are just weeks away and polls are already open for early voting across the state.

Here are two ways you can check who is on your ballot and learn about the candidates before you head to the polls.

Time to head to the polls: Early voting is underway. Here's where you can cast a ballot in Central Indiana.

The Indiana Citizen

The nonprofit, nonpartisan Indiana Citizen is a news organization focused on keeping Hoosiers informed about their government. It is operated by the Indiana Citizen Education Foundation and co-founded by Ann and Bill Moureau.

Every election, The Indiana Citizen provides a voter guide on its website with detailed biographies and information on candidates running for office.

All you need to do is provide the address where you are registered to vote. Find their website at indianacitizen.org.

Indiana state voter portal

The state of Indiana provides a voter portal where registered voters can see the candidates on their ballot, check their registration and find polling locations. The voter portal, however, does not provide additional information about the candidates on your ballot besides their name and party.

To access the candidates on your ballot on the voter portal website, you must provide your first and last name, date of birth and the county you are registered to vote in. Find the voter portal at indianavoters.in.gov.

Election Day is Nov. 7. Early voting times and locations depend on the county you live in.
