Early voting starts Oct. 29 in Monroe County. Here's where to vote

The general election in New York is still days away, but starting Saturday registered voters in the Empire State can begin casting their ballots.

Early voting this year runs for nine days, from Saturday, Oct. 29, through Sunday, Nov. 6. The opportunity, first offered to New Yorkers in 2019, allows registered voters to cast their ballots before the traditional Election Day, which this year is on Tuesday, Nov. 8.

In Monroe County, there are 14 locations where a registered voter can cast their ballot early. None of the ballots cast during the designated early voting process will be tallied until after the polls close on Election Day.

A registered voter can cast their ballot at any of the following locations:

When are polls open on Election Day 2022 in Rochester?

Polls are open for regular voting from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8. You can look up where to cast your ballot on Election Day at voterlookup.elections.ny.gov.

Can I still vote by absentee ballot?

Although the deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail or online has passed, registered voters can still request one in person at their county Board of Elections by Monday, Nov. 7. The Monroe County Board of Elections is at 39 W. Main St, on the first floor of the Monroe County Office Building.

Mailed absentee ballots must be postmarked by Nov. 8 to be valid. You can also hand deliver an absentee ballot to your county Board of Elections office or a polling site in your county by Nov. 8.
