Early voting is underway in Gaston County

Early voting for the primaries is underway in Gaston County.

So far, 1,602 Gaston County residents have cast their votes.

Forty-three of those votes were cast via absentee ballot, while 1,559 were cast at Gaston County’s four early voting locations.

With the window to cast an early ballot coming to a close at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, here is everything to know about early voting in Gaston County.

Locations

Gaston’s early voting locations include:

The Gaston County Board of Elections Office, located at 410 W. Franklin Blvd., Suite 30, in Gastonia.

The Mount Holly Municipal Complex, located at 400 E. Central Ave. in Mount Holly.

The Gaston County Citizens Resource Center, located at 1303 Dallas-Cherryville Hwy. in Dallas.

Lastly, the Gaston County Main Library, located at 1555 E. Garrison Blvd. in Gastonia.

Times and dates

All locations are open for voting during the following dates and times.

  • 8 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20 - Friday, Feb. 23

  • 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24.

  • 1 - 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25.

  • 8 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26 - Friday, March 1.

  • 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday, March 2.

To learn more about candidates running in this year’s primary elections, that are campaigning for the opportunity to represent Gaston County in the United States House of Representatives, the North Carolina House of Representatives, and on the county’s Board of Commissioners, voters can watch a full-length candidate forum hosted by the Gaston Business Association on the association’s YouTube channel. Voters can also read recaps of both the county commissioner candidates and the state and national level candidates on The Gazette’s website.
