Earn over $150K a year or more in SC with these highest-paid open state jobs for August

If you want one of the highest-paying open jobs from the state of South Carolina in August, you’ll mostly need medical training.

The state currently has 12 open positions for temporary and full-time positions on its jobs portal website that pay up to $150,000 or more a year. Most of the jobs listed are tied to health care, but there are a few related to education and the practice of law.

However, one job offers more pay than the rest in August.

The top-paying open position currently is for a temporary job for a medical director with the Vocational Rehabilitation Department, with a salary of $127.47 an hour or $265,137 a year.

The state’s website shows that the position would be in Lexington County. The person hired for the position would be responsible for providing consultative services for consumer services staff and educational programs, act as a liaison between the department and medical community and conduct and supervise medical treatment within the 24 hour department facilities.

The next highest-paying position on the list is a temporary job as a physician with the Department of Corrections, with a salary of $123.20 an hour or $256,256 a year.

The state’s website shows that the position, posted since Tuesday, would be in Richland County. The person hired would be responsible for coordinating and directing medical treatment and care services for an assigned institution. Other responsibilities include supervising professional medical activities of assigned institutions, establishing treatment procedures and guidelines for medical care services and providing medical care treatment services for inmate patients.

The state also needs a pharmacist and is willing to pay up to $150,585 to get one.

The person hired for the full-time job would work for the Department of Insurance in Richland County and be responsible for assisting and consulting with department staff on pharmacy regulation and legislation and would assist department staff with ongoing regulation of pharmacy benefit managers. Other responsibilities include analyzing potential changes to policy or legislation and working with the chief investigator during investigations to determine potential enforcement actions.

A temporary job for an HVAC adjunct professor is also one of the top highest-paying open positions in the state in August. The person hired would work at Midlands Technical College in Fairfield County and be paid up to $80 an hour or $166,400 a year.

Requirements for the teaching job include having excellent classroom management technique, a broad knowledge of the residential HVAC industry and HVAC installation, troubleshooting and repair techniques.
