East District soccer: TV's Yingling, Rosecrans' Maxwell earn top honors

Area teams were well-represented, as the East District Soccer Coaches Association recently released their all-district squads.

Tri-Valley senior Alison Yingling was named the Division I Girls Player of the Year, while the Scotties' Emily Reilly was Coach of the Year, John Glenn's Will Hess was named the Division II Boys Coach of the Year, Rosecrans sophomore Sydnee Maxwell was tabbed the Division III Girls Player of the Year, and Ridgewood's Tim Tubbs earned Division III Coach of the Year honors.

West Muskingum's Ryan Moore was given the Division III Girls Assistant Coach of the Year, and the River View girls were given the Division II Sportsmanship Award, along with New Philadelphia (D-II) and Caldwell (D-III) boys and Sandy Valley girls (D-III).

Other top awards were Dover's Eric Smith, Division I Boys Player of the Year, Dover's Austin Wade, Division I Boys Coach of the Year, Steubenville's Anthony Vendetti, Division II Boys Player of the Year, Tusky Valley's Jesse Brothers, Division III Boys Player of the Year, Tusky Valley's Shawn Miller, Division III Boys Coach of the Year; and New Philadelphia's AJ Wahlie and Lauryn Contini, Division II Girls Coach and Player of the Year, respectively.

The girls first team featured Rosecrans seniors Jenna McLaughlin and Chloe Zemba and sophomore Sydnee Maxwell, Cambridge's Renae Hupp, Coshocton junior Isabelle Lauvray, John Glenn seniors Maria Nicolozakes and Gwyn Lemon and sophomore Riley Zamensky, Maysville senior Gracie Meredith, Morgan junior Kennedy Mayle, Philo freshman Angie Myers, Ridgewood senior Allison Blevens, River View sophomore Audrey Border, Tri-Valley seniors Alison Yingling and Bailey Woods, West Muskingum senior Zoie Settles and Zanesville junior Rylee McCuen.

Rosecrans junior Avery Maxwell and sophomore Maddie Pugh, Cambridge's Destiny Garcia, Coshocton senior Myrakle Johnson and sophomore Sophia Skelton, John Glenn seniors Bella Eubanks and Marissa Saki, Maysville senior Shyann Havens and freshman Josalynn Milatovich, Morgan senior Shannon Cooper, Philo senior Haylie Stemm and freshman Sophia Saunders, Ridgewood seniors Jaydeigh Miller and Hailey Davis, River View senior Emma Sampsel and sophomore Kylie Miller, Tri-Valley seniors Emma Pratt and Marley Labishak, West M senior Gracie Settles and freshman Jayden Thornton, and Zanesville senior Michaela Bolen and junior Emma Williams made second team.

All-Ohio teams were also announced on Thursday, as Rosecrans' Sydnee Maxwell earned first-team mention for Division III girls; Maysville's Wyatt Mynes and John Glenn's Will Nicolozakes were second-team selections for Division II boys; and Rosecrans' Grady Labishak made second team for Division III boys.

Academic Honors included Coshocton's Myrakle Johnson and Maysville's Josh Parker receiving the Scholarship Awards, while Cambridge, Coshocton, John Glenn, Maysville, Morgan, Philo, Ridgewood, River View, Tri-Valley, West M and Zanesville girls and Cambridge, Maysville, Morgan, River View, Tri-Valley and West M boys earned Team Academic honors for having a team GPA of 3.0 and higher.

Morgan's Coriden Cain, Logan Raines and Shannon Cooper; Tri-Valley's Arpen Parekh, Jaxson Wood, Katie Davis, Lexi Klotzbach, Marley Labishak, Lexie Littich, Emma Pratt, Bailey Woods and Alison Yingling; Zanesville's Olivia Baldwin, Abigail Baldwin and Michaela Bolen; West M's Nathan Davis, Mykell Bowen and Carlee Hankinson; John Glenn's Maria Nicolozakes, Marissa Saki and Gwyn Lemon; River View's Emma King and Robbie Chandler; Philo's Haylie Stemm, Ridgewood's Cami Brill; Jessica Dotson and Riley Moreland; Coshocton's Hailey Helter, Myrakle Johnson, Destiny Frye and Ella Baylor; Maysville's Zailor Valentine, Josh Parker, Paige Burns, Gracie Meredith, Avery Brown, Brooklyn Ponish and Lileigh Spring; and Cambridge's Abdullah Khan, Andrew LaPlante, Nathan Lopez, Steeler Sylvis, Lucaus Parsons, Maggi Carna, Riley Crupper, Elizabeth Gonzales, Sophia Harper and Kendal Kenworthy were given Senior Academic Awards for having a GPA of 3.7 or higher.

The Coshocton girls also held their end of the season banquet. Junior Cady Jackson and freshmen Lucy Baylor and Emme Jackson received certificates; senior Hailey Helter, juniors Maria Ramon-Sotil and Julia Cutrina Bach (4 assists) and freshman Mia Lauvray earned first-year awards; senior Ella Baylor and sophomores Ashley Bryant, Brooklyn Nelson, Courtney Snyder (8 a), Addie Underwood (3 a), Gabriella Wesney and Sophia Skelton were given second-year awards; juniors Aerianna Braxton (3 a), Anna Jansen, Isabelle Lauvray (17 goals, 3 a) and Cammy Wilson (3 g) earned three-year awards and four-year award winners were Myrakle Johnson (2 g, 3 a) and Destiny Frye (107 saves, 3 shutouts).

Other Coshocton honors: Isabelle Lauvray, Offensive MVP; Skelton, Defensive MVP; Johnson, Redskin Award; Baylor, Coaches Award; Jansen, Sportsmanship Award; Wilson, Most Improved; Underwood, Comeback Player; Helter, Rookie of the Year; Braxton, Versatility Award; Frye, Career Saves Record (641); Kimmie Underwood, Coaching Victories Record (95).
