A memorial service for Detective Bryan Eldridge of East Hampton Village will take place on Dec. 30 at East Hampton High School, located at 2 Long Lane, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m; a police service will begin at 4 p.m. The windmills will be illuminated in blue to honor Eldridge. (East Hampton Patch)
Peconic Bay Medical Center opened a new drive-thru coronavirus PCR testing site in Riverhead. Testing is free and available by appointment from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (RiverheadLOCAL)
Police are now saying the Christmas home invasion and murder in North Sea was a targeted burglary. Steven Byrnes, 53, of Roses Grove Road, was found dead from a gunshot wound. (Patch)
