East Hartford man killed when his car hits parked tractor-trailer truck in Hartford

Apr. 25—HARTFORD — An East Hartford man was killed overnight in a motor vehicle accident that injured three others.

Police responded to the area of Fraser Place, just east of Garden Street, around 12:27 a.m. Sunday for a reported motor vehicle crash.

Upon arrival, police discovered that a gray 2003 Nissan Pathfinder had hit the rear-end of a parked and unoccupied semi-tractor trailer.

The Nissan's driver, Blanchard Baisden, 39, of East Hartford, died at the scene.

A 36-year-old female passenger was taken to Hartford Hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries, while two other passengers — a 38-year-old man and a 39-year-old man — were taken to Saint Francis Hospital for treatment.
