BERLIN - As the 2021-22 school year comes to a close at the end of this month, East Holmes Superintendent Erik Beun said the district has embraced the new normal throughout the school year, and continues to move forward.

"It has definitely felt more normal," Beun said of the current school year. "We dealt with some COVID things at the beginning of the year, but I think we're certainly back into all the normal routines, even though it is a 'new normal.' There are lots of activities here at the end of the school year, and people are excited for summer as we celebrate another year."

The superintendent said the East Holmes District not only celebrates the 77 graduating seniors from Hiland High School, but the graduating eighth-grade Amish students from Wise, Chestnut Ridge and Mount Hope as well.
