What are East Peoria's most expensive homes for sale? These 5 are above a half million

The five highest-priced homes in East Peoria are listed by five different real estate agents. Apart from two of the homes being located along Illinois Route 116, with views of the Illinois River valley, there does not appear to be a specific area of concentration for those homes. One common feature is that all five are adjacent to highways like Route 116 and U.S. Route 24, or to such major surface streets as Meadows Avenue and Springfield Road.

While someone looking for a multimillion-dollar estate might look somewhere other than central Illinois, it is possible to spend $1 million or more on a new home in East Peoria.

The priciest home currently for sale in East Peoria combines privacy with convenience. This five-bed, 5 ½-bath home sits on a 15.68-acre lot. According to RE/MAX Traders Unlimited broker Marilyn Kohn, the property features a stocked pond with a dock and fountain, an outdoor shooting range, an outbuilding with a full bath and a basketball court, and an indoor pool. But one of the home’s most important selling points may be its location.

“What is really unique is that it is really close (to Peoria),” said Kohn. “Usually, to get 15 acres, you have to be out further. This is literally 10 minutes from Downtown Peoria.”
