EastEnders' Davood Ghadami is leaving Kush Kazemi role

EastEnders star Davood Ghadami is leaving the show.
The actor will bow out from his role as Kush Kazemi in 2021 after six years in the BBC soap.
Announcing Kush's exit, an EastEnders spokeperson told Digital Spy: "We can confirm Davood will be leaving EastEnders when his contract comes to an end next year. Davood has been a wonderful addition to EastEnders and we wish him all the best for the future."
Kate Oates, head of continuing drama at the BBC, added: "Davood is a fantastic actor and a hugely popular company member, so we will miss him hugely."

A show insider also told us: "Bosses have a huge plot planned, but although Davood was told in January, his departure is not for a very long time yet. In fact Kush will be on screen until well into 2021. It's a shame and he will be missed by everyone at Elstree but sometimes the cost of having a big storyline means losing big characters."
Davood joined EastEnders in autumn 2014, when Kush was introduced as a new trader on the Bridge Street market and an old friend of Martin Fowler's.
Since his arrival, Kush has been at the centre of a number of memorable and important storylines.

In 2015, Davood and his co-star Rakhee Thakrar received praise for their powerful performances in a stillbirth storyline involving Kush and Shabnam Masood's son Zaair.
Davood was also closely involved in the show's knife crime storyline in 2018, which saw Kush's younger brother Shakil killed when he was stabbed by a gang.
During his time on the Square, Kush also fathered Stacey Slater's son Arthur. More recently, he has started up a relationship with Kat Slater.
Away from Soapland, Davood competed on the fifteenth series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2017, making it through to the quarter-finals.
