EastEnders has been building up to its epic Christmas storyline all year with a whodunnit flashforward showing a mysterious male victim dead in The Vic and six potential suspects looming over him - Denise Fox (Diane Parish), Kathy Cotton (Gillian Taylforth), Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) and Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal).

The story behind The Six is being explored further in a one-off special on December 11, hosted by the former I'm a Celebrity star.

Swash played Mickey Miller on the soap from 2003 to 2008, before returning briefly for a couple of episodes in 2011 for his brother Darren's wedding. 12 years later, Swash is returning to the world of Albert Square as he quizzes The Six on their roles in the murder mystery storyline, causing fans to wonder if he could appear on the soap more permanently again.

Opening up on the nostalgia of being involved with the soap once more, Swash told The Mirror: "It's nice to still have a relationship with EastEnders after all these years, which I really like. Whenever I've been back there it's not changed - inside the dressing room, the makeup room, costume room. It's exactly the same, the same carpet, same doors. So I do get really nostalgic when I go back there. I was 21 when I did that show. So much has happened since then.

"You tend to forget about it. But it's so, so nice. If I get a chance to go back, I'll always go back. It's a part of me, it's something that's a part of my past."

Further elaborating on returning to the soap as Mickey, Swash didn't rule out the possibility should he be offered the chance by the show's bosses, though nothing is currently in the works.

"I really don't have much to do with it. I can't make the decisions. They bring people back from the dead, so if they really wanted me, they know where I am.

"I loved my time on there. If it ever came back around again, I don't know. It was an amazing place to learn my trade, I had five incredible years there. I wouldn't be sitting here today if it weren't for EastEnders, I owe them a lot. If they ever asked I would definitely think about that."

EastEnders: The Six – Revealed will be airing on Monday, December 11 at 8pm on BBC Three and iPlayer. EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
