EastEnders spoilers follow.

Kathy Cotton will learn estranged husband Rocky's fate in upcoming EastEnders scenes.

Brian Conley exited the BBC One soap as the always-unlucky Rocky just after Christmas Day, when on-screen wife Kathy forced him to confess that he'd started the café fire.

Kathy was pressured into turning against her husband by the other members of The Six once he started to suspect they were involved in Keanu Taylor's 'disappearance' from Walford.

Viewers will get an update on how Rocky has been faring behind bars in scenes that will be airing next week on BBC One and the BBC iPlayer.

The gossip will filter through Walford that Rocky will soon be sentenced for starting the cafe fire, leaving Kathy feeling more guilty than ever about forcing him to confess.

Sonia Fowler tries to cheer Kathy up by inviting her over for supper, as she knows all too well what it's like to be let down by Rocky. Viewers will remember that Rocky pretended to be Sonia's long-lost father when he first arrived in Walford.

Sonia is so concerned with how Kathy is coping with Rocky's imprisonment that she enlists Elaine Peacock to throw a boozy brunch for her.

It remains to be seen whether Kathy will feel any relief once she discovers how Rocky's sentencing hearing has turned out.

Earlier this month, Brian Conley revealed that – while he's excited about other projects right now – he wouldn't rule out eventually reprising his role as Rocky.

"I am in prison so I haven't died and that's a nice thought," Conley told the Swindon Advertiser. "I could get off with good behaviour."

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
