EastEnders is set to air a shock kiss, as Max Branning (Jake Wood) and Mel Owen (Tamzin Outhwaite) share a tender moment this week.

The two get close after they spot teenager Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) in The Vic, who has recently been released from prison after serving time for killing his sister Lucy and attacking his stepmother Jane.

Seeing Bobby brings thoughts of her son Hunter to Mel's mind, with Hunter currently in prison for the murder of his stepfather Ray Kelly.

Seeing how upset Mel is, Max reassures her and offers his support to her.

As the pair open up to each other they share an unexpected kiss, but little do they know that Max's wife Rainie (Tanya Franks) is watching them.

This week also marks Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt)'s return to the Square, where he will face a tense reunion with his youngest son Bobby.

He's also set for a stand-off with Max after he spots bruises on Bobby's face, with Ian quick to accuse Max of attacking his son.

This makes it all the more awkward when Ian discovers that Max has become his new business partner while he's been away...

These scenes air on Monday, June 24 at 8pm on BBC One.
