EastEnders spoilers follow.

Ruby Allen has blamed Stacey Slater after suffering a horror fall at the club in EastEnders.

The tense scenes aired in Friday's episode, after Ruby (Louisa Lytton) learned earlier this week that she'd suffered a miscarriage of her and Martin Fowler's (James Bye) child.

Ruby had previously been lying about being pregnant before learning she was actually carrying a child, and in Friday's episode (Friday 26), couldn't bring herself to tell Martin she'd lost their baby.

The club owner had a brief respite from the trauma when Dotty (Milly Zero) convinced her to her and Tiffany (Maisie Smith) to bilk some each extra cash from rich single men in the club.

However, Stacey (Lacey Turner) eventually turned up at the club when she found out that Lily had ordered expensive travel supplies on her credit card, in advance of Martin and Ruby's planned holiday.

While the two old friends had a brief moment of bonding, Stacey snapped back to reality when she reminded Ruby how her supposed mate had tried to have Kush (Davood Ghadami) kidnap her son.

Stacey went to leave after insinuating that Martin would always have feelings for her, leading Ruby to follow her out to the stairwell to carry on their argument.

As Stacey walked up the stairs, Ruby chased her and insisted that her love for Martin was too strong to break up — as Ruby reached to grab her arm, Stacey pulled away and demanded her rival "leave it".

Ruby lost her balance and fall backward down the stairs. Stacey rushed right to Ruby's side and called 999, as well as leaving a voicemail for Martin.

"It's all good, we're all good," Stacey insisted to Ruby. "And that baby's going to be fine, don't worry."

There appeared to be a thawing between the two, but any goodwill was gone by the time Martin arrived at the hospital later when he admitted he'd spoken to Stacey before even checking in with her.

"She tried to break us up. She hates that I was having your baby," Ruby insisted. "I've lost my baby, and it's all Stacey's fault!"

Viewers know that Ruby didn't actually lose her baby in the fall down the stairwell, but is certainly still processing the tremendous grief from her miscarriage.
