EastEnders star Heather Peace has addressed Eve's role in the Christmas flashforward story.

Eve isn't one of the six characters shown in the recent flashforward sequence that reveals someone will turn up dead in The Queen Vic this festive season — but she does have ties to both Stacey Slater and Suki Panesar, who were both present in the footage.

Speaking to Digital Spy and other media, Heather expressed hopes that Eve's relationships with both Stacey and Suki may point to her being involved in the storyline as well.

"I don't think it'll be me [who dies], obviously. I've never thought that for one second," Heather told us.

"But I am involved in both Stacey's storyline and Suki's storylines. I would like to be involved in some way, but I've got absolutely no idea at the moment."

The culmination of the flashforward storyline at Christmas will cap off an incredible year that has already seen EastEnders win all four viewer-voted categories at the British Soap Awards in a huge critical turnaround.

Asked about that special moment at the British Soap Awards, Heather said: "I did this video actually on Twitter and Instagram just showing us all dancing afterwards. But to be honest, the atmosphere has been brilliant for quite a long time now and all that Saturday night was a culmination of what we feel we're bringing in as a cast and a crew.

"It felt right for us if that makes sense, just because, in the cast at the moment, we're all supporting each other and all wanting each other to be brilliant. It feels very, very ensemble and it feels very together and about wanting the show to be good.

"Honestly, we all adore each other — I haven't worked in a cast that's been as supportive of everyone as this in the 26 years I've been doing this. It's quite a special place to be at the moment."

If the Christmas whodunit lives up to the hype, the EastEnders team may find themselves celebrating at next year's British Soap Awards, too!

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
