Easter egg hunts, other Easter activities planned in Monroe County

Area Easter egg hunts and other Easter events have been announced.

Easter egg hunt at CrossPointe Church

An Easter Egg Hunt will take place at 10 a.m. April 8 at CrossPointe Church, 1675 Stewart Rd.

Admission is free; the public is welcome.

Easter egg hunt at Meeting Place Church

• The Meeting Place Church will hold an Easter egg hunt after 11 a.m. services April 9.

Children ages 1 and older are welcome.

“Come celebrate Jesus with us at 11 a.m.,” the church said.

The church is at 5080 N. Stony Creek Road in Monroe, next to Jefferson Middle School.

Easter Eggstravganza at New Life Church

• A free Easter egg hunt for the community will take place from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 1 at New Life Church, 6023 Summerfield Road, Petersburg.

The annual Easter Eggstravganza will include 5,000 hidden eggs. Children through fifth grade may attend.

Also offered will be four inflatable jump houses, a free walking taco lunch, crafts, carnival games with prizes and more.

“An important part of the event is the telling of the Easter story in an understandable way for all ages,” Joshua Ellis, New Life Church pastor, said. “Eggstravaganza is a fun-filled time for the whole family to make cherished memories and a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the reason for Easter.”

Photos with Easter Bunny

• Photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny will be available March 30 through April 8 in the center court at the Mall of Monroe.

Photo times are noon to 7 p.m. (break from 3 to 3:45 p.m.) Mondays through Fridays; 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. (break from 3 to 3:45 p.m.) Saturdays, and noon to 5 p.m. (break from 2 to 2:30 p.m.) Sundays. Good Friday hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. (break from 3 to 4 p.m.) April 7. Hours on April 8 are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. (break from 3 to 4 p.m.)

Easter egg hunt hosted by Coldwell Banker Hayes

• Coldwell Banker Hayes Real Estate will hold its second annual Easter egg hunt April 8 at Munson Park's ball fields. The event will run from noon to 2 p.m. with hunts starting at 12:15.

Children will be divided into age groups on four ball fields. Children should bring their own container. Children age 10 and younger may attend. Admission is free.

Also offered will be face painting, balloon artists and a food truck.

Terra Quest 4-H Club Easter egg drop

• An Easter egg drop will take place April 8. Other dates also are available.

Members of the Terra Quest 4-H club will bring eggs filled with candy and toys and hide them in yards at night.

“Bring joy to your children’s hearts when they find a personalized letter from the Easter Bunny and tons of colorful eggs on Easter morning,” the club said.

Easter egg hunt at St. Joseph Erie

• St. Joseph School of Erie will hold its annual Easter egg hunt at 11 a.m. April 1 on the school’s soccer fields, 2214 Manhattan St.

Attendees should bring their own containers.

If weather is inclement, the event will be canceled. Updates will be posted on the Facebook page for St. Joseph Parish Erie.

St. Joseph held the annual event for many years, but it has been absent for more than 10 years. Last year the school and church revived the event.

Easter photos at Family Farm and Home

• Easter photos featuring live animals will be offered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 1 at Family Farm and Home, 205 N. Telegraph Road.

Also offered will be a bake sale and petting farm.

Photos are $5 each.

The event is offered by the Monroe County 4-H Goat program. All proceeds will help fund the program’s events.

Easter Extravaganza at Monroe Family YMCA

• An Easter Extravaganza will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. April 5 at the Monroe Family YMCA.

Featured will be the Easter Bunny, refreshments, crafts and more.

Easter trunk-or-treat in Toledo

• An Easter trunk-or-treat with food trucks will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. March 26 at St. James Lutheran Church, 4727 Sylvania Ave., Toledo.

If weather is inclement, the event will be held indoors. The public is welcome.

• Spring Break Boredom Busters: We're Going on A Bunny Hunt will take place from 11 a.m. to noon March 27 at Ellis Library & Reference Center.

• Bunnies on the Run Craft will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. March 27 at the Carleton Branch Library.

Children will use a paper cup, rubber band, two pop bottle caps and some ears to make a bunny. Space is limited. Registration is required.

• Make whipped cream-dyed eggs at 11 a.m. March 28 at the Carleton Branch Library. Check-in will begin at 10:45 a.m.

Registration is required.

Each child will be given three hard-boiled eggs to decorate in whipped cream with food dye. Children should wear old clothing. Adult help is recommended.

• An Easter Egg Extravaganza will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. April 1 at the Ida Branch Library.

Registration is full, but there is a wait list.

Children will take part in an Easter egg hunt and crafts. A snack will be served. Children in preschool through Grade 4 are welcome.

• Color Me Excited has been set for 5 to 7 p.m. April 5 at the Dundee Branch. The event will have a drop-in format.

Children ages 4-12 can make egg art. Stations will be set up. Families are welcome.
