Easter egg hunts set across Dallas County

There are plenty of opportunities to meet the Easter Bunny and search for Easter eggs in the Dallas County area this month.

Easter Egg Hunt & Reading with the Easter Bunny

When: 12 p.m. Saturday, April 1

Where: Perry Hy-Vee

Info: Hop on over to your Perry Hy-Vee on April 1 for an Easter egg hunt starting at noon. The hunt will take place outside on the west side of the building, weather permitting. The Perry Public Library will offer book readings with the kids at 12:15 p.m. inside the Hy-Vee store. The Easter Bunny will be stopping by from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for photos, so bring your camera and phone.

Easter Egg Hunt for Dogs

When: 1 p.m. Sunday, April 2

Where: Adel Dog Park

Info: The Adel Parks and Recreation Department will host its second Dog Easter Egg Hunt on April 2. Dogs must remain on lash during the hunt.

Adel Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt

When: 3-5 p.m. Sunday, April 2

Where: Kinnick Feller Park, Adel

Info: The Adel Kiwanis will host its annual Easter egg hunt on Sunday, April 2 at Kinnick Feller Park. Attendees are asked to bring food donations for the Good Samaritan Food Pantry. The event will feature prizes, fire trucks, photo ops with the Easter Bunny and more. The hunt will be broken into three age groups: ages 0-3 at 3 p.m., ages 4-6 at 3:30 p.m. and ages 7-10 at 4 p.m.

Grimes Easter Eggstravaganza

When: 9-11 a.m. Saturday, April 8

Where: Grimes Community Complex, 410 SE Main St., Grimes

Info: Activities during the Grimes Easter Eggstravaganza include an Easter egg hunt, games, bounce house, bake sale, crafts, coloring contest with prizes, face painting, balloon artist and close-up magic. Breakfast will be available through the Grimes Lions Club. The egg hunt starts at 10:30 a.m. The eggstravaganza is hosted by Crossroads Community Church and sponsored by many local businesses. The event is free, but attendees are asked to bring non-perishable donations for the Grimes Storehouse.

Dallas Center Easter Egg Hunt

When: 10 a.m. Saturday, April 8

Where: 1300 Walnut St, Dallas Center

Info: Join the Seasonal Fun Committee for the Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Heritage Park (across the street from the library). The Easter Bunny will show up a few minutes before the 10 a.m. Easter Egg Hunt.

Minburn Easter Egg Hunt

When: 10 a.m. Saturday, April 8

Where: Rogers Park, Minburn

Info: Join the Minburn Public Library, with help from the Minburn Fire Department, for the annual Community Easter Egg Hunt. The hunt will divided by age groups and there might even be a visit from the Easter Bunny. Come early and get a coffee or donuts for a free-will donation.

New Day Assembly Easter Egg Hunt

When: 10 a.m., Saturday, April 8

Where: New Day Assembly front lawn, 2313 1st Ave, Perry

Info: New Day Assembly will hosting an Easter egg hunt for kids ages preschool through fifth grade on April 8. An egg hunt, raffle prizes and a hot dog lunch will be available. Golden eggs will be hidden for special prizes.

Waukee Easter Egg Hunt

When: 10 a.m., Saturday, April 8

Where: Centennial Park, Waukee

Info: Kids ages 0-10, hop over and fill your baskets full of candy at Waukee’s annual Easter Egg Hunt on April 8. It will start at 10 a.m. sharp at Centennial Park, rain or shine. Enjoy thousands of eggs and pieces of candy at this popular event. Note that some candy many contain nuts. Watch for the special golden prize eggs. Hunters will be divided into designated sections based on age group. Registration is not required.

Woodward Easter Egg Hunt

When: 10 a.m., Saturday, April 8

Where: Woodward Public Library

Info:  The Woodward Lions Club and Woodward Public Library will host an Easter egg hunt for all to join on April 8 at the green space next to the Woodward Public library on Main Street in Woodward. Bring the family out to enjoy the morning and there just might be a visit from the Easter Bunny. The hunt is for kids ages 2 through 5th grade.

Perry Easter Egg Hunt

When: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 8

Where: Wiese Park, Perry

Info: Perry Parks and Recreation will be holding an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 8 in Wiese Park. The Easter Bunny will be available for pictures at 10 a.m. The Easter egg hunt will begin at 10:30 a.m. The hunt is for kids ages 2-8. This event is free to all families.

Granger Easter Egg Hunt

When: 11 a.m. Saturday, April 8

Where: Granger Parks and Rec Field

Info: Stone Bridge Church and Granger Parks and Recreation will sponsor an Easter egg hunt at the Granger Parks and Recreation field. Over 8,000 candy-filled eggs will be available for children ages 1-11, plus a special visit from the Easter Bunny.

Van Meter Easter Egg Hunt

When: 11 a.m., Saturday, April 8

Where: Johnson Park, Van Meter

Info: The Easter Bunny will be dropping off eggs at Johnson Park for an Easter egg hunt on April 8. The hunt will begin at 11 a.m. Bring the family out, there will be lots of eggs and treats. All kids age 10 and under can join in on the hunt.

Easter Eggstravaganza

When: 4 p.m. Saturday, April 8

Where: Lutheran Church of Hope - Waukee

Info: Join Lutheran Church of Hope - Waukee for an egg hunt, Easter activities and Inflatables on our South Lawn. Invite your friends and families!
