Eastern students' volunteerism lauded at service expo, awards

Apr. 19—WILLIMANTIC — Retiring Eastern Connecticut State University Center for Community Engagement Director Kimberly Armstrong Silcox's days at the school may be numbered.

But she offered student volunteers Monday one more moment of inspiration and told them their work helping the community will last with them forever.

" Your journey may have ups and downs, but the journey is necessary to achieving your own personal legend," she said at the annual ECSU Service Expo and Awards Ceremony at the Fine Arts Instructional Center Monday afternoon.

It was the first such event in two years following the pandemic.
