1. An attempted armed carjacking was reported April 10 outside of a Papa John’s on Madison Street. The car owner fled back inside the restaurant and the assailant left the scene, according to Forest Park police. (Forest Park Review)

2. Eastgate CafĂ© has permanently closed after 14 years on Harrison Street. Owners Olya and Pat Dailey sold the building and will enter “semi-retirement.” They said they are committed to helping find jazz musicians a new place to perform weekly jam sessions in Oak Park. (Wednesday Journal)

3. Loretto Hospital CEO George Miller is “no longer affiliated with the organization,” the hospital announced Tuesday. A spokesperson declined to comment on whether he resigned or was fired.
