Just before Winter Storm Izzy dumped several inches of snow in Western North Carolina late Saturday night, several wrestling teams and area wrestlers were in action earlier in the day Saturday and earned big victories.

At TC Roberson High School, North Henderson's wrestling team won the title by going undefeated in its four matches. North won 63-12 over AC Reynolds, 68-9 over Brevard, 42-31 over North Buncombe and 52-27 over county-rival East Henderson.

East, meanwhile, had two wrestlers earn big wins on Saturday. At the Ram Duals, senior Tucker Marshall picked up his 100th victory of his career with a win in the Enka match. He also got a win in the North match and now has 101 victories in his career.

Marshall signed last month to wrestle in college at the University of Mount Olive.

The East girls were competing in the Jolly Roger Invitational in Wendell, and East's Eva Keefauver earned first place in the 145-pound division. Keefauver dominated her way to the title with four straight pins. Three of those were in less than a minute, and in the finals, she won by pin in a time of 1:51.
