Want a great excuse to eat ice cream for breakfast? Orlando’s own Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream is giving you one.

From Feb. 1-29, all Kelly’s locations, as well as Foxtail counter locations in the Central Florida area, will be fundraising on behalf of Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital to support pediatric cancer. This isn’t the first time the shops have gathered donations and earmarked proceeds for the effort, but in the past, it was limited to National Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day (Feb. 18). Customers, however, often asked how they could do more.

“In response to feedback asking for ways to increase their support during Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day, we decided to make it a monthlong initiative and added a way to contribute to the register,” founder Kelly Seidl said. “We are grateful for the generosity of our community.”

Customers will have the opportunity to donate $1, $5 or $10 at checkout all month long, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Feb. 18 (National Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day), 50% of ice cream sales will go directly to the cause. Donation fliers will be on hand at the register for those who’d like to write their names and post them in-store.

For additional “breakfasty” fun, the popular Blueberry Pancake and Bourbon Bacon ice cream flavors — formerly one-day specials on Feb. 18 — are on the Featured Flavor lineup all month long.

Said Seidl: “Thanks to the partnership with Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital and the generosity of our customers, we are pleased to support the growing needs of the children in Central Florida.”
