Eateries Offering Free Goodies To 2020 Grads In Charlotte Metro

CHARLOTTE, NC — A handful of eateries in North Carolina are stepping up amid the new coronavirus crisis with tasty gifts for high school and college graduates in 2020.

Students and families in North Carolina and across America are embracing virtual graduation celebrations. And while it’s impossible to duplicate a moment as special as walking across the stage to receive your diploma, free food is always welcomed.

Here are eateries and restaurants in the Charlotte metro offering free culinary goodies to students graduating this spring.

Krispy Kreme
Graduating seniors can stop by any Krispy Kreme location May 19 to receive a dozen free doughnuts.

The 2020 Graduate Dozen includes an assortment of Chocolate Iced Kreme Filled, Strawberry Iced Kreme Filled, Cake Batter Filled, Chocolate Iced with Sprinkles, Strawberry Iced with Sprinkles and Yellow Iced Original Glazed Doughnuts.

You need to bring one of the following items to receive the celebratory doughnuts:

  • Cap and gown with 2020 tassel

  • Class of 2020 apparel

  • 2020 letterman jacket featuring senior status

  • 2020 class ring

  • Graduation announcement featuring name with matching ID

  • Student photo ID featuring 2020 senior status

  • Other class of 2020 senior swag

Chipotle is also looking to help 2020 graduates in multiple ways this spring.

The first 5,000 customers who buy a graduation-themed gift card from the Mexican food chain between May 21 and June 30 will receive a coupon code for a free entrée with the purchase of any entrée.

Additionally, for any students not yet in college, the chain is holding a contest on Instagram in which students can win a $25,000 scholarship.

Edible Arrangements
Graduates in 2020 may not be able to receive a bouquet after walking off the stage, but Edible Arrangements is offering free Celebration Dipped Fruit Delights to students graduating this spring.

To receive the tasty arrangement, you need to post a video on social media that includes the hashtag #EdibleMoments. Additionally, videos must have the graduate’s name and an explanation of how they’re celebrating.

The fruit creations include cantaloupe, grapes, honeydew wedges, pineapple and an assortment of chocolate-dipped fruit.

Jack in the Box
The fast-food restaurant is set to offer free tacos in celebration of the class of 2020.

You can receive two free tacos with any purchase made through the Jack in the Box mobile app from May 20 through May 26.

From now until June 28, all 2020 graduates can receive a free 11-ounce filet mignon with the purchase of any two entrées.

Customers will be asked to show proof that they are graduating this spring.

In Charlotte, Ruth's Chris Steak House has locations at 222 South Tryon Street and 6000 Fairview Road.
