Eating out for Thanksgiving? Here are Alachua County restaurants that will be serving

If you’re looking to spend the night out with your family on Thanksgiving, Gainesville has some options for you.

Some restaurants in Gainesville and in Alachua County are serving Thanksgiving meals for families, so make sure to reach out ahead of time to get your reservations in.

Here’s some restaurants that will be open on Thanksgiving Day:

Mildred’s Big City Food

Mildred’s Big City Food is a local American restaurant located at 3445 W University Ave., open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Reservations are required to dine in, and take-out orders can be made over the phone by calling 352-371-1711

The Thanksgiving menu is not finalized yet, but last year the menu included a classic turkey dinner with cranberry sauce, cornbread, sweet potato and Brussels sprouts. Non-turkey options included salmon and a New York strip steak.

This restaurant is dog-friendly for outdoor seating and had a Thanksgiving menu range last year from about $30-$50 per person.

Cracker Barrel

Cracker Barrel will be serving Thanksgiving dinners on Thanksgiving Day, but reservations can only be made online that day. The restaurant is located at 4001 SW 43rd St.

The Thanksgiving menu includes a homestyle turkey and dressing meal, which includes a sweet potato casserole, green beans, dinner rolls and pumpkin pie for $14.95. Other options include their “chicken n’ dumplins,” which comes with two sides and dinner rolls, and a country vegetable plate with four sides and dinner rolls.

It will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., but the Thanksgiving dinners will begin starting at 11 a.m.

Metro Diner

Metro Diner, located at 2130 SW 34th St., will be serving in-house Thanksgiving dinners from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. It will be on a walk-in basis.

In the diner, they will be serving Thanksgiving dinners including baked ham or roast turkey with mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, cornbread stuffing and seasonal bread pudding for $15.99.

Boston Market

Boston Market will be open on Thanksgiving Day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., located at 6483 W. Newberry Road.

It will not be doing in-house dining, but it will be taking orders that day to pick up and take home, without reservation needed. Menu items include turkey, ham, chicken, mashed potatoes, stuffing, corn, steamed vegetables and mac and cheese.

Gumby’s Pizza

Gumby’s Pizza, located at 2028 SW 34th St., will be open on Thanksgiving Day from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. with the same menu items.

Mi Apa Latin Cafe

Mi Apa Latin Cafe will be open in all three locations in Gainesville, Alachua and Jonesville on Thanksgiving Day from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Orders can be placed on the phone and in-store.

Haile Village Bistro

Haile Village Bistro, located at 5323 SW 91st Terrace, will be open for a Thanksgiving buffet and hold seatings from noon to 3 p.m. and from 3 to 6 p.m.

Families must make reservations for the Thanksgiving buffet, which will include ham, turkey, roast beef, vegetables, pecan pie and pumpkin pie. Adults are $35 and children are $15.

IHOP

IHOP is open 24 hours every day, located at 3625 SW 13th St.

Gainesville and Alachua County have a variety of restaurants open on Thanksgiving, and it is important to call ahead and check for reservations before heading to a restaurant.
