Eclipse Exhibit at Crawford County Art Center open through mid-April

Crawford County Art Center opened its Eclipse Exhibit displaying the works of around 10 artists.

“A good handful of those are new to us, which we are very excited about,” Kaylee Powers, executive director, said.

Exhibit items range from ceramic and traditional paintings and sculptures to fiber and digital arts created by the center instructors who are getting ready for classes in the digital classroom.

“Those are a variety of pieces that will be on display on our television,” Powers said.

Most of the artists working in more traditional art techniques who are display their art at the Eclipse Exhibit are painters, she said, but a few sculpture pieces were submitted as well. All of the artwork is related to the topic of the eclipse either in direct or in figurative sense.

“The eclipses have meant a lot to a lot of different cultures throughout history, so we really have seen a lot of creativity from artists coming up with the unique interpretations of this,” Powers said.
