Eclipse minute: For how long will we see the total solar eclipse?
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The 2024 total solar eclipse will pass through Buffalo on April 8 around 3:20 p.m. How long will the total eclipse be visible in Western New York?
That depends on close you are to the center of the path of totality. Those near the center of the line — which runs through Tifft Nature Preserve and continues on a northeast path — will get the longest period of darkness, lasting over three minutes. Those closer to the edges of the path, such as Warren, Pa. or Hamilton, Ontario, will experience darkness for a shorter period of time (assuming, of course, that it isn’t cloudy).
