ECSO: One man taken to hospital after Monday afternoon shooting on West Jordan Street

One man was shot Monday afternoon and transported to a local hospital, according to the Escambia County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities had not released the man's identity as of Monday afternoon.

ECSO spokeswoman Amber Southard said the shooting occurred at about 12:15 p.m. Monday in the 2700 block of West Jordan Street.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they located one man with gunshot wounds, and EMS was called.

The man was alive at the time he was taken to the hospital, but the nature and severity of his injuries was not available.

As of Monday afternoon, no arrests had been made and no suspect had been announced.

"We're out there investigating," Southard said.
