ECU baseball vs. Coppin State in NCAA Greenville Regional: Live score updates

East Carolina baseball extended the longest active winning streak in the nation with a romp through the American Athletic Conference tournament for a third tourney title and an NCAA tournament berth as a regional host.

The No. 1 seeded Pirates (37-24) will look to score their 19th straight win Friday when they play fourth-seeded Coppin State (24-28) at 1 p.m. in the Greenville Regional opener. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.

Coastal Carolina is the No. 2 seed in Greenville and Virginia is No. 3.

Should East Carolina win its home regional, the Pirates would be set up to host Super Regionals since they earned the No. 8 overall seed heading into playoffs. The Greenville winner will meet the winner out of the Austin Regional, which includes Texas, Louisiana Tech, Dallas Baptist and Air Force.

Coppin State is making its NCAA regional debut after winning its first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) tournament championship since 1995.

League pitcher of the year Jordan Hamberg, rookie of the year Josh Hankins and tournament MOP Brian Nicholas power the Eagles.

ECU is led by Jacob Jenkins-Cowart (coming off an MVP performance in the AAC tournament), Zach Agnos, Alec Makarewicz, CJ Mayhue and Bryson Worrell.
