Former LSU football coach Ed Orgeron has made his back to Lafayette.

Coach O is in attendance at Louisiana's game at Cajun Field against Eastern Michigan, spotted on the sideline.

The Eastern Michigan game marks the second time Orgeron has been around UL's football team in the last month, first showing up for the Ragin' Cajuns' first team scrimmage of the preseason back on Aug. 13.

The embattled LSU coach, who coached the Tigers to the 2019 national championship with arguably one of the best teams in history, has familial ties at Louisiana with his son, Parker, serves as a graduate assistant on Louisiana's staff, coaching the tight ends.

But first-year UL football Michael Desormeaux told media members in August that Orgeron has spent some time with him and his coaching staff dating back to the spring, talking about past experiences, what's worked and not worked for each, and that two have a budding relationship.

“Coach O has been really good,” Desormeaux said. “He came by this spring and spent some time with us. And I sat down and had a lot of time with him talking about his experiences. The things he did that he liked, the things he did that he’d do differently and get his take on it.

“A guy that’s won a national championship is someone I’m going to sit down with, spend time with and see what I can take from him.”
