FALL RIVER — Edgar Allan Poe is coming back to the city.

Back by popular demand, the Lizzie Borden House, 230 Second St., is once more hosting readings of selected Poe works.

The Fall River landmark, site of two unsolved 19th-century hatchet murders, is gearing up to celebrate the master of the macabre with readings and performances of select Poe works on April 21 and 22. There will also be a virtual event on April 14 at 8 p.m.

Hear classics like “The Conqueror Worm,” “Annabelle Lee,” The Raven,” and others, along with an original story that will blur the two worlds of history and horror together in a tale of murder and regret. Members of the tour guide staff show off their skills in an evening of Tell-Tale Hearts and other shocking delights!

“We couldn’t believe the overwhelmingly positive response for this event. The team did an amazing job pulling this off and I couldn’t be more excited to see it again,” house manager Jared Robinson said in a press release. "'An Evening of Poe Works' is a family-friendly event, but parents should be reminded that Poe’s work is a little spooky for young children,” Robinson said.
