From the editor: Changes coming to Fayetteville Observer comics pages

The comics are perhaps the most beloved content found in newspaper pages — readers know they can head there each day for a smile or even a chuckle.

Our offerings in The Fayetteville Observer have evolved over the years to reflect the culture and tastes of the times. To that end, starting Monday, Oct. 2, we’re refreshing our comics pages.

The comics that publish in the print newspaper will also appear in the eNewspaper at fayobserver.com. Readers can view additional comics at usatoday.com/comics.

The changes will not impact subscription rates.

While there are some comics in the daily and Sunday newspaper that we will no longer publish, we are adding some we believe will be popular, including Ziggy, Marmaduke and Luann.

Here’s everything you’ll find in the daily newspaper: Baby Blues, Baldo, Beetle Bailey, Blondie, the Born Loser, Crabgrass, Crankshaft, Dennis the Menace, Family Circus, For Better or For Worse, Frank and Ernest, Garfield, Hagar the Horrible, Jump Start, Marmaduke, Non Sequitur, Peanuts, Pearls Before Swine, Pickles, Luann, Ziggy and Zits.

You’ll find all of those comics in the Sunday newspaper, as well as FoxTrot.

I hope you’ll enjoy our new lineup and that these comics have you starting each day with a smile.
