From the editor: The comics page are changing, but you'll still get the laughs you love

We at The Daily Times and DelmarvaNow.com pride ourselves on delivering all kinds of news to our readers.

From previews and coverage of great events like the Maryland Folk Festival and BikeWeek in Ocean City, to detailed coverage of community issues like crime and education, our reporters and myself strive to give you the best daily news we can online at DelmarvaNow.com and in The Daily Times.

But of course, like all of you, we also like to laugh. Personally, I like to watch screwball comedy movies to unwind after a long workday.

And that's also why, like many of you, I still enjoy reading the comics.

In these hectic times, they provide a respite from what can seem to be an onslaught of bad news. And while we'll also strive to find a good mix of the happy and hard news in our daily report in print and online, the comics will continue to play a big part of that, even as they go through some changes.

You'll see some changes to the comics page starting Oct 2 as they will be standardized across the national USA TODAY Network. Old favorites like Garfield and Peanuts will still have a home here, and you'll see some new faces too.

What you'll see in The Daily Times:

Monday through Saturday: Blondie, Zits, Beetle Bailey, Family Circus, Hagar the Horrible, Dennis the Menace, Garfield, Peanuts, For Better or Worse, Baby Blues and Pickles.

Sunday: Blondie, Zits, Beetle Bailey, Family Circus, Hagar the Horrible, Dennis the Menace, Garfield, Peanuts, For Better or Worse, Baby Blues, Pickles, Foxtrot, Pearls Before Swine, Jump Start, Ziggy, Marmaduke, Non Sequitur, Crabgrass, Crankshaft, Luann, Baldo, Frank & Ernest and Born Loser.

All the printed comics are available in the eNewspaper and readers can go online to check out additional comics, including some of those that will no longer appear in the newspaper, at www.delmarvanow.com/comics.

Change can be hard, but we hope you'll still find things to like and to make you laugh in our comics offerings, and we always value your feedback. You can reach out to me directly at kdemko@delmarvanow.com.
