EDITORIAL: Change is hard, but sometimes necessary

Aug. 19—Change is inevitable and sometimes necessary. On occasion, you have to make changes that you don't want to make, although you know it is in the best interest of either yourself, your family or your business.

With that being said, there is a rather large change coming to The Banner. As of Aug. 29, 2023, The Duncan Banner will part ways with Chisholm Corner stores and will no longer carry our papers in any of their locations.

We realize this will be an inconvenience to some, but we strongly encourage our readers to visit other local establishments to purchase The Banner.

On Aug. 29, readers will be able to find our papers located in the following locally owned and/or managed locations: in Duncan at The Duncan Banner, ASAP General Store, Brittains Cash & Dash, CVS Pharmacy, all Dollar Generals, Duncan Food Mart, Eastland Grocery, all three Everest Corners, Homeland, Jimmy's Egg, Napolis Shop-N-Bag, the Fuller Store, Think Ability Market and Walgreens; in Comanche at Comanche Seed & Grain, Delbert's Grocery Store, Mac's, Meridian Kwik Mart and Edgewood; in Marlow at Discount Auto Supply, Gina's Buzz Thru, Hop & Sack, both Love's stores, Marlow Food Market and Napolis Marlow. For location addresses, please see our locations ad that publishes every Tuesday in The Banner.

We also ask for your patience as we make this necessary change. We will try to make this transition as seamless as possible.

Aside from visiting our racks, readers can also consider starting a subscription and have The Banner delivered to your house. Call Sherrie at 580-255-5354 and ask about our new subscriber special.

Remember: Shop local. Eat local. Read local.
