Editor's note: Resolutions for New Year? Nope. Change can happen anytime

And with ringing in the New Year arrives the dreaded resolution. I start each year with good intentions. I am resolute until early March — OK, early February — but by then my best-laid plans are out the window. This year, NO resolution is my new resolution. Change can happen anytime of the year, right?

Don’t get me wrong, I welcome new things and a fresh start. But this year, I am setting an intention to embrace change. Take things day by day. Be present in the moment and only look ahead. Let’s face it, we all have learned to pivot during the past few years. It’s a skill I am choosing to lean into for 2023.

Change is happening on our pages, too. Big plans have been in the works; content additions and tweaks to the layout have been in the works since summer. There are glimmers of it in this first issue of 2023. We kick off a new series of short features with “TALK: Bookshelf.” Contributor Chris Worthy offers a look at reads ranging from an autobiography to cookbooks, all just in time for the new year.

Finally, this month’s fashion feature gives us a glimpse into a day with Bravo TV’s Southern Charm cast member Olivia Flowers. Shot in Isle of Palms, SC at Olivia’s home, behind the scenes was filled with laughs, smoothies, fabulous fitness gear and wild golf cart rides.

Regardless of all the new around here, we promise to continue to bring you our tried-and-true content; regional food, fashion, faces, places and inspiring stories.

At some point the new year is no longer new, so my hope is this year brings you an opportunity to set the reset button as many times as you need.
