EDMOND — An off-duty Edmond police lieutenant has been arrested after police said she shot and killed her 36-year-old brother.

Officers and firefighters were called at 9:28 a.m. Thursday to Spring Creek Apartments, 777 E 15, by the off-duty officer who told them a domestic disagreement between her and the victim led to the shooting, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Edmond police identified the off-duty officer as Lt. Jennifer Haddock, 40, and the victim as her brother, Sean Haddock.

Sean Haddock was found on the floor of their mother's apartment after he had been shot in the chest.

According to the affidavit, the shooting happened during a heated argument between the siblings over ownership of furniture inside the apartment, where Sean Haddock had been living with their mother.

After being advised of her rights, Jennifer Haddock told an investigator her brother had backed her into a wall as they argued, prompting her to draw a .40-caliber handgun she was carrying and to warn Sean Haddock several times to back away.

Instead, she said her brother grabbed the firearm and told her to shoot.

"There was separation, and upon him advancing back toward the defendant, she fired a single round, which struck Sean Haddock in the chest," the document states.

Jennifer Haddock was arrested Thursday on a manslaughter complaint and placed on administrative leave by the agency, pending further investigation.

Police declined Friday to release any additional details about the shooting investigation.
