Education briefs: Local students make Saginaw Valley list

Eleven students from the area were among the nearly 2,000 named to the Dean’s List at Saginaw Valley State University during the fall 2021 semester.

The list recognizes students who earn a semester grade point average of 3.4 or higher and take at least 12 credit hours.

Local students who made the list are Heather Wilson of Fennville; Caitlin Harper of Hamilton; Claire DeJonge, Jordyn Elders, Ryan Langdon, Madeline Lowry, Abigail Rosiak, Joshua Rottier and Adrian Sanchez of Holland; Jessica Thies of West Olive; and Cole Machiela of Zeeland.

Buis earns Georgia State degree

Holland native Taylor Buis completed a degree at Georgia State University during the fall 2021 semester. Buis earned a Master of Science in sport administration.

Tubbergen makes IWU list

Lillianna Tubbergen, a Holland native and Holland Christian graduate, was recognized for academic achievement at Indiana Wesleyan University following the fall 2021 semester.

Tubbergen earned a spot on the university’s Dean’s List, which requires at least 12 credit hours and a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
