McMurry on Saturday dedicated its new Centennial Garden, which includes a granite marker honoring longtime faculty member and iris grower Pug Parris.

Parris retired in 2020 as the second-longest tenured faculty member at McMurry. She saved irises when the original garden gave way to construction of the Furr Welcome Center addition at Radford Auditorium.

Last year, her irises were planted at the new garden, which is located at the southwest corner of Wah Wah Taysee Park on campus.
