Education Roundup: Aultman College receives grant, sets Preview Day

CANTON – Aultman College was selected as a Choose Ohio First grant recipient for $483,000 total over five years. The funding is provided by the state of Ohio and the Department of Higher Education to improve Ohio’s workforce and economy. This grant is to be used for scholarships for new, incoming students in the bachelor of science in nursing program.

Choose Ohio First funds higher education and business collaborations that will have the most impact on Ohio’s position in world markets such as aerospace, medicine, computer technology and alternative energy. Choose Ohio First is part of a strategic effort to bolster Ohio’s economic strength by ensuring a ready workforce for STEM-related industries.

Aultman College is accepting applications for Summer 2023 and Fall 2023 for the following programs: BSN, RN-BSN completion, bachelor of social work, associate in health science and certificate for medical assisting. The college will hold a Preview Day, an open house-style event for interested students, at 10 a.m. Jan. 7. The event will feature tours of college facilities and classrooms; the opportunity to meet with students, faculty and staff; and presentations about the various programs in nursing, radiography, social work, medical assisting and the health sciences, as well as College Credit Plus for high school students.

Engineering scholarships available

The Engineers Foundation of Ohio is accepting applications for its College Scholarship Program for the 2023-2024 academic year. The scholarship program is available to outstanding high school students who will be starting college next year, as well as current college students.

Good Shepherd Christian Academy accepting new students

MARLBORO TWP. − Good Shepherd Christian Academy (goodshepherdschoolgss.com) is accepting new students for the spring semester of the 2022-23 academic year.
