Edwardsburg Public Schools $59.6M bond proposal fails

Aug. 4—EDWARDSBURG, Mich. — School officials at Edwardsburg Public Schools are back to the drawing board after district voters narrowly turned down the option to approve a $59.62 million bond.

The unofficial count from Tuesday's election show that 1,486 (or 53 percent) voted against the district's proposal while 1,324 (or 47 percent) voted in favor of the measure that would have raised taxes 2.5 mills above the current 3.4 mill tax rate.
