Effort underway to honor Sacramento-area couple, man who rescued Central Coast shark attack victim

They were called heroes for their efforts to help save a swimmer who was attacked by a great white shark, now efforts are underway to officially recognize them as such. On Wednesday, three good Samaritans came to the rescue of Steve Bruemmer, 62, who was bitten by a shark while swimming in the water off Lovers Point in Pacific Grove. A spokesperson for the American Red Cross of the Central Coast said plans are in the works to nominate the three for a Red Cross heroes award.
