Egg hunts, dancing and RI's secrets. Top weekend events in Newport County

It's Easter weekend so your plans may be booked with family events, church services or preparing for guests, but if you have the time to get out there is still plenty happening around Newport County.

For the kids, there are still eggs to be found, including a chance to hunt in the dark.

If you're into dancing, you can grab a partner or go single to a Barn Dance and do-si-do.

Or learn about some parts of Rhode Island you may not have been aware of.

Here's a look at what's happening this weekend before the Sunday holiday.

Barn dancing in Tiverton

The Four Corners Arts Center welcomes guests to the historic village of Tiverton Four Corners to celebrate the coming of spring and the daffodil bloom in the tradition of New England’s earliest settlers for an early evening of contra dancing from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Meeting House at Four Corners, 3850 Main Road, Tiverton.

Music will be provided by Woody & the Westside Warblers, with Don Heinold serving as the dance caller.

A $15 donation is suggested at the door and guests are welcome to bring their own food and beverages. Proceeds will support the Four Corners Arts Center.
