C5Alive, the Capital City Christian Chamber of Commerce, organizes the event and is led by Lee Hartman. Easterfest began in 2014 and moved to North Topeka from Gage Park in 2017.

This will be the festival's first time at Great Overland Station, Hartman said, but he expects the same turnout.

"We enjoy celebrating Easter and the resurrection." Hartman said.

Topeka Easterfest to feature parade, egg hunt and more

Easterfest will kick off with its parade along North Kansas Avenue starting at 10 a.m. from Garfield Park to NOTO Arts District.

Following the parade, the egg hunts start at 11 a.m. Grade levels include preschool and younger, kindergarten to third grade, and fourth to sixth grade.

In addition to the parade and egg hunt, seven food trucks will be available along with three different grade-leveled cupcake walks, each with its own grand prize.

Children's games like ring toss, table crafts and more will be provided, alongside inflatables and petting zoo animals.

A concert stage will feature live music from Topeka Big Band, Roger Randel, Blues Healer Band and others. Aqua Henderson will provide an Aerial Silks performance.

Topekans encouraged to volunteer for Easter celebration

Hartman said festival organizers expect to see over 3,000 people attend this year's celebration. More than 90 local vendors will be in attendance both inside and outside the station, so Topekans are encouraged to volunteer and help the event run smoothly.

"We do like them to contact us ahead of time so we can kind of coordinate, you know, what, where we're going to use them at." said Hartman. "But we'll take all the help we can get."

Easterfest is a free to the public, and all volunteers can volunteer for two-hour shifts or all day. Those who volunteer will receive a free t-shirt, gift certificates and other bonuses.
