EggTown opens first Bradenton-area restaurant with breakfast and lunch menu

Since opening his first restaurant in New Tampa in 2019, Alket Marku has rapidly grown EggTown Breakfast & Lunch.

On Oct. 16, Marku and his wife, Erinda Kostandin, opened their fourth restaurant at 5820 Ranch Lake Blvd. #102, near Lakewood Ranch off State Road 70 East.

“It’s beautiful here. The area is amazing and so nice. From our first week, it’s been a success,” Marku said as wait staff brought heaping breakfast platters to guests in the busy dining room.

One thing to know is that Marku, 38, comes from a restaurant family and guests won’t leave hungry. He started in the business as a dishwasher when he was 14, and later moved on to become a cook.

The breakfast menu includes a variety of omelettes, country skillets, Benedicts, specialties (breakfast burritos, avocado toast and bagels) and a section called “sweet temptations.”

Those temptations include loaded French toast (or pancakes or waffles) topped with strawberries, blueberries and bananas), Oreo pancakes, Nutella crepes and more.

Sweet Temptations and the Country Skillets have been very popular so far in the Bradenton area, Marku said.

So, what’s in a country skillet? The EggTown skillet has bacon, sausage, ham, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, cheddar cheese and scrambled eggs. There are also veggie skillets and other options.

The lunch menu is similarly hearty.

Country fried steak, country fried chicken, corned beef hash and biscuits and gravy for starters.

Also available: salads and sandwiches, including burgers, Reubens, BLTs, crab cake and more.

“We are always looking to grow. We are very thankful for the support from the community,” he said.

Alexa Dennis serves as the manager of the restaurant.

“We are excited to be here and finally be open,” Dennis said.

EggTown Breakfast & Lunch has seating for about 136, a new look, and a fresh remodel from the back of the house to the front of the house, Marku said.

“My wife designs all the restaurants. She is the best business partner,” Marku said.

Other EggTown Breakfast & Lunch restaurants are in Wesley Chapel, Lithia and New Tampa. A fifth restaurant is coming to Riverview. Marku is also looking for locations in Sarasota.

The restaurant is open 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. seven days a week.
