Eglin AFB will hold an industry day, hoping to lease 98-acre tech park

EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE — Officials from the Air Force Civil Engineer Center and the 96th Test Wing at Eglin Air Force Base will hold an industry day on Feb. 7 to gauge interest in a mixed-use technology and research park.

The Air Force is hoping that organizations from the public and private sectors would be interested in leasing all or part of a 98-acre parcel of underutilized land surrounding the Research Engineering Educational.

The Air Force must receive lease payments or in-kind considerations equal or above the fair market value in exchange for a lease. Examples of Air Force Enhanced Use Lease projects include hotels, business parks, sports complexes, wastewater reclamation facilities, commercial mixed-use or solar energy.

Through the Air Force Civil Engineer Center, the Air Force will post a draft Request for Lease Proposal on or before Thursday, and will be available to the public at SAM.gov. The deadline for submission of proposals is March. 29 at 5 p.m.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Research Engineering and Education Facility at 1350 North Poquito Road in Shalimar. For registration, send an email to EglinAFB.EUL@Specprosvcs.com.
