Eight lovely music and theater shows for Valentine’s Day: Six online and two live

Here’s something for everyone to love on or near Feb. 14: six dreamy streaming entertainments plus a couple of live ones (one of which also has a livestream option), brought to you by Connecticut artists or arts organizations.

Music for Cello: Ravel’s sensuous “Bolero” will put you in the Valentine mood. Talkin’ to This Chick Sippin’ Magic Potion: A fresh contemporary take on love and affection, this developmental reading of a new play by award-winning and fast-rising young playwright James Anthony Tyler is describes as being about a “professional cuddler who learns that her new client Ruben needs more than her touch” and which “explores love, resentment and the journey to becoming the best version of oneself.” Feb. 7-26, as part of TheaterWorks Hartford’s 2020-21 season. $25. twhartford.org

Amanda & Elyot: All Alone: Playhouse on Park is premiering this COVID-conscious adaption of No 1/4 u00ebl Coward’s classic “Private Lives,” concentrating on the play’s intimate, isolated second act. Jim Brickman — Share the Love: The soothing yet jovial New Age pianist performs a love-themed concert, a follow-up to his successful Christmas concert. Buy tickets through the Shubert site and a portion of the proceeds benefit that theater. Feb. 12-14. Snapshots, a Musical Scrapbook: A lifelong love story told with songs by Stephen Schwartz (”Wicked,” “Godspell”). This virtual production from A Contemporary Theatre of Connecticut (ACT) happens to open on Valentine’s weekend. Streaming Feb. 13-28. $20. actofct.org/snapshots.

Funny How It Happens — A Valentine’s Day Celebration: Married-to-each-other Broadway stars Kelli Barrett and Jarrod Spector sing romantic pop hits and showtunes. Feb. 14 at 4 and 8 p.m. at the Ridgefield Playhouse, 80 East Ridge, Ridgefield. The 4 p.m. show has a livestream option at $45.
