Eight more Ukrainians were successfully evacuated from the Gaza Strip to Egypt through the Rafah border crossing on Nov. 23, Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesperson Oleg Nikolenko told NV, adding that 26 citizens left Egypt for Moldova the same day.

"We are grateful to Egypt, Israel, Qatar and other partners for their assistance."

A total of 259 Ukrainians were evacuated from Gaza during the first rescue phase, which is under the "special control" of Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.

Ukraine has evacuated more than 200 of its citizens from the Gaza Strip, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Nov. 14.

The evacuation of foreigners from the Gaza Strip through the border crossing with Egypt began on Nov. 1 and is proceeding in alphabetical order by nationality. The exact number of Ukrainians remaining in the enclave is unknown, but is estimated at about 500 people, with 370 seeking evacuation assistance from the embassy.

The first group of 43 Ukrainians was evacuated from Gaza on Nov. 8. Ukraine also facilitated the evacuation of 36 Moldovan nationals from the conflict zone as part of the operation. On November 9, 160 Ukrainians and nine Moldovans were evacuated.

Eleven more Ukrainians evacuated, Ambassador to Israel Yevhen Korniychuk reported on Nov.11.

A record number of foreigners - about 800 people - left Gaza, CNN reported on Nov. 12.
