Nine Pueblo-area girls to compete in Class 4A, 3A state high school golf championships
Nine Pueblo-area high school girls will participate in the Class 4A and Class 3A state golf championships on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Six Pueblo girls will take part in the Class 4A championships at Tiara Rado Golf Course in Grand Junction. Three Pueblo-area girls will compete in the Class 3A championships at Broadlands Golf Course in Broomfield.

In Class 4A, Pueblo Central freshman Sofia Contreras, the South-Central League champion, will lead the Pueblo contingent. She will be joined by Pueblo County's Samantha Hansen and Alexis Roblek, Pueblo East's Gracie Soto, and Pueblo West's Gianna Nardini and Kylie Sergejev.
In Class 3A, Rye has two golfers competing: Emma Garcia and Paige Hyatt, and Jodi Griffin will compete from Swallows Charter Academy.
Each tournament will be a 36-hole championship format with team and individual awards. Players will play 18 holes on Tuesday and 18 more on Wednesday.
