Eighty-five per cent of viewers approved of Joe Biden’s speech to a joint session of Congress, a poll showed.
The survey of people who watched the 46th president’s address showed it received a positive reception from more than eight in 10 people, while just 15 per cent disapproved, according to CBS News.
And 74 per cent of those surveyed felt that Mr Biden’s plans would help them, while 12 per cent thought they would be hurt by them, and 14 per cent said it would not have much effect.
Mr Biden used the Wednesday night speech to tout his administration’s achievements in his first 100 days in the White House.
His 65-minute speech was his first major one to lawmakers since his January inauguration and it focused on the growing threat of China abroad and his plans for a recovering America at home.

Mr Biden told Americans that during the first 100 days he had confronted the public health crisis caused by the pandemic, and the economic damage that it created.
The president also touched on job creation, infrastructure and curbing gun violence in the speech.
