El Dorado County to file appeal, hope not to move into more restrictive COVID-19 tier

The California Department of Public Health announced Tuesday that El Dorado County will move back to the more restrictive red tier, or the substantial tier, because novel coronavirus cases are on the rise. Recently, the county was operating in the orange reopening tier, or the moderate tier, which allowed businesses to serve more customers. The county’s public health officer, Dr. Nancy Williams, said she will appeal to state health officials for El Dorado County to remain in the orange tier through the state’s adjudication process.
