El Paso County sheriff's deputies arrest fugitives in sexual assault, DWI, drug cases
A man wanted in a sexual assault case and another man sought in connection with drunken driving and drug charges were arrested by El Paso County Sheriff's Office deputies, officials said.
El Paso County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit deputies arrested 20-year-old Dante Marquez on Wednesday in connection with sexual assaults charges, sheriff's office officials said.
Marquez was wanted in connection with one count each of sexual assault and aggravated sexual assault of a child/sexual abuse of a child under 14 years old.
The sexual assault charge stems from a September 2021 incident, while the sexual assault of a child charge is from a December 2021 incident, jail records show.
He was out on bond as his cases remained pending in district court, according to court records.
Marquez was found at a Lower Valley apartment located in the 7800 block of Lilac Way. He was arrested inside the apartment without incident, officials said.
Marquez was booked into the El Paso County Jail on a bond totaling $200,000.
Warrant for drunken driving, drug charges
That same day, deputies arrested Jorge Marquez, 30, at a home in the 1900 block of Bobby Jones in East El Paso, officials said.
Jorge Marquez was wanted in connection with two counts each of driving while intoxicated for the third time or more and possession of a controlled substance.
The drunken driving charges stemmed from incidents in May 2019 and March 2020, according to jail records. The drugs charges are from arrests in March 2021 and August 2022, jail records show.
He was taken into custody without incident, officials said.
Jorge Marquez was booked into El Paso County Jail on a bond totaling $300,000.
